Prefer prior neuro experience.
Description:
This is a float pool position requiring flexibility.
Travelers are expected to float throughout the designated zone.
Each zone covers a radius that impacts housing arrangements.
Week of orientation is mandatory.
No home base facility is allowed per policy.
Clinicians should be available for the week of orientation even if modules are remote.
Travelers may be required to float to various facilities.
Staffing schedules are released 4 to 6 weeks in advance.
Option for assignment scheduling includes both set facility and just-in-time notifications.
Patient ratios will be 1:5-6 based on acuity.
Common patient populations include adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses such as cardiac, neuro, oncology, and more.
The role may involve some titration of drips.
A designated charge nurse oversees staffing and patient assignments.
Nurse aides are available on the unit, with specified ratios maintained.
Available equipment includes respiratory devices.
Schedule operates from 7 PM to 7 AM, with time off requests needed prior to the start of the assignment.
Weekend shifts will range from 6 to 9 in a 6-week period.
Holidays may require participation in a rotation.
Float assignments may include various acuity levels, including low acuity holds.
Cancellation by the facility is permissible up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment.
The charting system used is EPIC.
A BSN is not required for this position.
