Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating days/nights (D/N or Night shifts available); shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs
Highlights:
- Medical Surgical Oncology unit with 36-bed capacity serving adult and geriatric patient populations
- Oncology experience preferred but not required – excellent opportunity for experienced Med/Surg RNs to transition into oncology
- 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Epic EMR required; familiarity with GE telemetry systems, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds preferred
- Strong focus on continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety
- 72-hour orientation period with one pre-approved time off period available during assignment
Patient Care Focus:
- Continuous cardiac monitoring for patients receiving chemotherapy
- Care for patients with soft tissue malignancies undergoing diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management
- Management of disease-related symptoms and comorbidities
- Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as sickle cell crises
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience (must be current and within the last 12 months in relevant specialty)
- BLS/BCLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
Required Clinical Skills:
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Accessing and managing ports
- IV insertion and maintenance
- Central line, PICC line, and arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Chemotherapy administration
- Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
- High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- PCA and insulin drip titration
- Tracheostomy care/management
- ABG interpretation
Reference Requirements:
- Two professional references required
- At least one reference must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
- Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
