Unit Details
This is an adult Med-Surg/Telemetry floor. Despite the unit’s current name, it does not provide pediatric care. Most orthopedic patients are now cared for on a separate dedicated floor.
Responsibilities
Assess and monitor adult Med-Surg/Telemetry patients
Interpret telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
Administer medications and prescribed treatments
Evaluate patient response and adjust interventions as needed
Identify and respond promptly to changes in clinical condition
Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
Educate patients, families and caregivers
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Float to appropriate units based on staffing needs and clinical competency
