Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital License: State RN license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CPI preferred Must-Have: - Must have experience with drips - EPIC charting experience required - Must be comfortable taking care of behavioral health patient population Description: 36 or 48-hour option for contract. Travelers are expected to float frequently to meet staffing needs. RTO blackout dates apply during specific events. The unit is a 20-bed general medical surgical and telemetry unit. Patients may include those with orthopedic cases, pulmonary issues, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses. The unit is split across two floors with secured access. Travelers will receive training for safety and de-escalation. Ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Night ratios can occasionally be 1:7, but this is rare. Travelers must be flexible and may float to additional units as necessary. Care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport teams, and LPNs. The facility is a 100% nicotine-free environment. Weekend shifts require working 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Locals are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility. Medical and religious exemptions for vaccinations can be requested. Candidates must provide proof of license within specified timeframes. Travelers must attend mandatory training sessions as required. Proper attire is mandatory, with specific guidelines for scrubs. This role involves caring for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support includes multiple teams such as physical therapy and pharmacy. Specific patient care tasks and responsibilities are outlined for successful candidates. Candidates must have significant experience with managing and administering various protocols and care procedures. Compliance with facility policies and regulations is required throughout the contract duration.
