Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Cerner EMR Experience Description: Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of the assignment. This must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/med surg unit. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high quality care to various patient populations including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry. Floating is a requirement in acute care and is always required for any non-critical care inpatient units. Occasionally, floating to critical care units may occur if the traveler has relevant experience. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Medical/surgical ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. The traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour if called in during low census periods.
