Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,327 per week in Madison, WI

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day Rotations Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: RN license required Certifications: BLS required (AHA only) Must-Have: - Experience starting IVs - Epic experience - Ability to pass a telemetry test prior to start Description: D/N rotators will not be scheduled to flip between days and nights more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period. An exception may be made at the employee's request. Employees will be scheduled for 36 hours off between the end of a scheduled night shift and the beginning of a scheduled day shift if the day shift is for patient care. Exceptions to the 2 flips in a 6-week scheduling period and/or the hours off between schedule flips may be made at the employee's request. Day/Night shifts include every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Experience with a variety of adult med/surg conditions and geriatric populations is required. Travelers will be required to assist patients from various correctional facilities. The unit includes a locked wing for these patients. Staff will always be accompanied by an officer while assisting them. The patient care team is supported by various interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. The patient ratio for nights and days may vary. Travelers are required to float as needed. Candidates should have two years of acute care experience within the last three years. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: - 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole. - No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks. - A passing score of 80% or higher is required. The assignment will be canceled if the criteria are not met after three attempts. This role involves direct patient care with a focus on both assessment and management of a variety of conditions.
