Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum License: Required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CPI preferred Must-Have: - Epic charting experience required - Must be comfortable caring for a behavioral health patient population - Experience in a large, urban hospital required - Must have experience with drips Description: This position requires the Registered Nurse to float between units as necessary. The nurse will care for a variety of patients including those with orthopedic, cardiac, pulmonary, GI, psychiatric, and endocrine conditions. The unit has a mix of medical-surgical patients as well as patients with underlying behavioral health conditions. Training for safety and de-escalation will be provided to ensure a secure environment. The nurse will be responsible for patient ratios of 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with the potential for rare increases to 1:7. All RNs must adhere to the nicotine-free policy. Weekends require four weekend shifts within a four-week period. Travelers may need to work two out of three major holidays during the holiday season. RTO submissions are permitted. All candidates must submit their RTO requests along with their applications. Local candidates are not accepted. This facility adheres to a strict no nicotine policy. Candidates must have experience with Level 1 trauma facilities within the last year. First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position. Charting experience should be recent, specifically within the last two years. The nurse will be expected to manage drips and have experience with telemetry monitoring. Behavioral health experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
