Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience for a 32-bed inpatient acute care unit in Schenectady, NY 12308. • Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; holiday rotation; no self-scheduling
• Floating: Required to float within competencies

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; New York RN license preferred at submission
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg Tele, telemetry, or related acute care nursing experience required
• 2 years of experience preferred for immediate consideration
• BLS certification required before start if not already current
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in weekend and holiday rotation
• Comfort working in a fast-paced telemetry unit with medically complex patients
• Ability to float to like units within scope and competency

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Administer medications, infusions, and ordered treatments in accordance with nursing standards
• Perform IV starts, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and support respiratory therapies as needed
• Assist with patient transport, transfers, and coordination of care
• Support patients with respiratory needs such as pneumonia, COPD, trachs, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive outcomes and efficient unit flow
• Float to comparable units as needed to support patient care and staffing needs
