Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Setting: 32-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; every other weekend required; holiday rotation
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-7
• Charting: Cerner
• Float: Required to like units within competency

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York at or before start date; may be screened without a current license
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical or telemetry specialty experience required for auto-offer; candidates with at least 1 year of specialty experience may be screened to the manager
• BLS from AHA or American Red Cross required, or ability to obtain before start
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred but not required
• Current Nursys verification within 6 months
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and thrive in a busy telemetry nursing environment

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients with a variety of complex conditions
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Administer medications, infusions, and drips in accordance with best practice and unit protocols
• Perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, IV starts, and ongoing IV maintenance
• Support respiratory therapies such as oxygen weaning, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care
• Assist with patient transports, ICU transfers, and other care coordination needs
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care
