Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical unit, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Shift and Scheduling

  • Shift: 4x12-hour, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
  • On-call Requirement: Yes, as needed for low census
  • Local Radius: 60 miles (No locals accepted)
  • Block Schedule: Requests can be submitted, but approval is not guaranteed

Patient Care Details

  • Patient Ratios: 1:6-7; staffing plan supports normal ratios, with a possibility of flexing to a 1:7 ratio during unplanned absences
  • Required to float within scope to meet facility needs and between similar units

Qualifications

Required

  • 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
  • South Carolina nursing license or Compact license must be valid prior to start
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Skills required: Medical/Surgical nursing, Telemetry, Insulin management, Rapid Response capabilities

Preferred

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
