Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,419 per week in Bridgeport, WV

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS ACLS Must-Have: All travelers must take and pass a cardiac rhythm exam. Experience with managing basic telemetry patients is required. Description: The unit comprises multiple medical-surgical and telemetry areas. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, cardiac catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic conditions, and oncology cases. The nurse-to-patient ratio is primarily 1:5-6 for both day and night shifts. Nurses are expected to read and interpret telemetry strips, and should be able to manage respiratory equipment like CPAP and BiPap. There will be a charge nurse present on every shift, though they may take on patient assignments during the night. Nursing Assistants are utilized throughout the unit to support care. Self-scheduling is not an option; scheduling is managed by the unit manager. Travelers will float to various assigned units as needed but will report to the clinical coordinator's office for assignment prior to starting their shift. Scrubs must be royal blue, as specified by the unit’s dress code. Travelers will have a brief orientation period of 1-2 shifts with a designated preceptor to acclimate to the unit.
