Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Neuroscience Medical-Surgical Telemetry – Wisconsin
Start Date: Flexible (August 31, September 14, or October 12, 2026)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Patient ratio 1:4. Orientation includes 24 hours.
Highlights:
- 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit serving adult and geriatric patients with complex neurological conditions
- Work with diverse patient population including post-surgical spine and craniotomy cases, stroke patients, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and epilepsy
- Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's top hospital and recognized as a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program
- Hands-on experience with advanced skills including telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound vac management, PCA pumps, central lines, and BiPAP/CPAP management
- Collaborative environment with evidence-based practice and comprehensive multidisciplinary team support
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Neuro Medical-Surgical/Telemetry within the last 3 years
- Epic charting system experience required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Telemetry competency – must pass telemetry examination prior to start (strict passing criteria apply)
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, including identification of dysrhythmias and management protocols
- Experience with IV insertion and maintenance, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Floating to other units as needed
