Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required (must have 2 years experience in a large, urban hospital). License: Active state RN license required. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, CPI, and NIH preferred. Must-Have: - Drips experience required on all floors. - EPIC charting experience required. - First timers not accepted; consideration may be given if the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. - 100% nicotine-free facility. - RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. - Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Description: This unit will open in early December. Travelers will float within the tower to orient to the facility while also attending unit-specific training until the floor opens for patients. The unit features a newly remodeled, 45-bed environment caring for adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including sepsis, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine conditions, and cardiac diseases. Our diverse patient population provides opportunities to build strong clinical judgment, time management, and critical thinking skills while gaining experience across multiple specialties. The unit includes advanced technology such as digital door signs, digital whiteboards, virtual nursing support, and virtual patient monitoring for high-risk patients to enhance communication and improve patient safety. Travelers will float within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially floating to other units as necessary. RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the hospital. Interdisciplinary support includes care teams consisting of care techs and transport teams. Local candidates will not be accepted. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the winter holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. Two weeks of RTO are permitted, and additional requests are at manager discretion. This is a non-smoking facility. All contracts will end on a Sunday, with a workweek running Monday to Sunday.
