Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS Telemetry) registered nurse position is based in a rural hospital. This role involves caring for adult patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and medical/surgical issues. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment requiring effective communication and time management skills. The position supports a team-oriented approach to provide quality patient care to the community.

Job Details:

• Location: Rural hospital setting.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with start time at 7:00 a.m., working every other weekend.
• Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association); ACLS certification; minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical with Telemetry experience; proficiency in reading strips for telemetry monitoring; ability to titrate Heparin drips; licensed to practice as a registered nurse.
• Patient Population: Patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and medical/surgical conditions.
• Bed and nurse ratios: 25 beds; 5-6 patients per nurse.
• Equipment: Cpap, Bipap, high-flow oxygen devices.
• Additional Information: Orientation includes two shadow/orientation shifts; transitioned to electronic charting system (EPIC) starting October 30, 2026; will float to other medical-surgical units and possibly to PCU to care for telemetry holds.
• Shift Coverage: No block scheduling; schedule based on facility needs, managed by the nursing leadership.
