Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry Float (Zone-Based Travel)
Location: Centennial, CO 80112 (Denver Metro Zone 3)
Pay: $2600/week
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Med Surg / Telemetry RN for a zone-based float pool across multiple hospitals in the Denver metro area. This is a high-flexibility role requiring strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to work across various specialties and facilities.

⚠️ Important Role Details
  • NO Home Base Facility

  • MUST FLOAT within Zone 3 hospitals (up to 60 miles)

  • Must be comfortable with Just-In-Time (JIT) scheduling

  • OrthoColorado Hospital – Lakewood, CO

  • St. Anthony Hospital – Lakewood, CO

  • St. Anthony North Hospital – Westminster, CO

  • Longmont United Hospital – Longmont, CO

✅ Required Qualifications
  • Active RN License (CO or Compact)

  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA) – Required

  • Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience

  • Strong telemetry monitoring & dysrhythmia interpretation skills

  • Experience with heparin drips

  • Preferred: Neuro experience

️ Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple specialties

  • Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms

  • Manage patients in MS, Tele, PCU, and low-acuity ICU holds

  • Administer medications and manage post-surgical and medical patients

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for quality patient outcomes

  • Adapt quickly to new units, workflows, and patient populations

Patient Population
  • Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal

  • General Surgery (post-op), GYN, Urology

  • Psych/Detox, ENT, Trauma, Rehab, Bariatrics

  • Stable long-term and general medicine patients

⏱️ Schedule & Requirements
  • Night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

  • 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule

  • Holiday rotation may apply

  • Rare call/standby for low census

  • Schedules released 4–6 weeks in advance

Floating Structure

Option A:

  • Assigned to one facility for the week

  • May float within that facility

Option B – JIT (Just-In-Time):

  • Facility assigned 1–2 hours before shift

Travelers must secure housing that allows commuting across the entire 60-mile zone

  • Ratios: 1:5–6 (based on acuity)

  • Charge Nurse: Present (may take light assignment at night)

  • Support Staff: CNAs available

  • Equipment: Telemetry, vents, CPAP/BiPAP

  • Scrubs: Any color

  • Orientation: 1–2 days with preceptor

  • Must be in-state for orientation week
