Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry Float

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule released 4-6 weeks in advance; includes 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; may include Just-In-Time (JIT) facility assignments (assigned 1-2 hours before shift)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality MS-Telemetry nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple specialties
- Continuously monitor telemetry and intervene promptly for cardiac changes
- Titrate heparin drips safely and per protocol
- Float across Zone 1 facilities (Colorado Springs area) and adapt to different unit workflows and acuity levels
- Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and smooth transitions
- Support charge nurses and assist in maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:5-6 based on acuity)
- Complete required orientation and maintain certifications to meet unit requirements
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Heparin titration and drip management
- Adult and geriatric acute care fundamentals
- Familiarity with ventilator/RT equipment and working with respiratory therapists
- Care for cardiac, neuro, oncology, ortho, renal, and post-surgical patients
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
