Job Title: Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med/Surg Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour and Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 12 months permanent experience in specialty License: Must have a permanent Ohio license or a compact state license in hand Certifications: AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required Must-Have: Must have 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty applying for. Traveler must work at least every other holiday. ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment must be completed during orientation, with acceptable scores required. Description: This position is for a Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse. The role involves monitoring and caring for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The nurse may float to other units as needed to care for the same patient population. Shifts will rotate between nights and days, and while the preferred shift may be honored, the facility reserves the right to rotate shifts based on operational needs. The candidate must have a current and active Ohio license or compact state license upon submission. All required certifications must be in hand and active. A reference from a manager or supervisor in the specialty is required for qualification. Nurses are exempt from nicotine-free requirements, which are temporary and will be honored until further notice. Other travelers must be nicotine-free, and a negative drug screening is required. Candidates may extend with the client for a period, after which a break may be required. Annual competency requirements may also apply for candidates who remain on a continuous contract. Modules and additional training necessary for the role will be provided.
