Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Evening: 0700 - 1930). Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need. 1:5 patient ratio on weekends. Floating to other units may be required as needed.

Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in Medical/Surgical specialty
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria apply)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Clinical Skills & Experience:
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- IV management including starting and maintaining peripheral lines, PICC lines, and central line blood draws
- Administration of IV drips (insulin, heparin, PCA)
- Blood product administration and management
- Wound care and wound VAC management
- Care of post-operative patients including orthopedic, bariatric, and neurosurgical procedures
- Management of feeding tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, and specialty equipment
- Experience with total joint replacements, bariatric surgery, and general surgical procedures preferred
Patient Population:
- Adults and geriatric patients with medical diagnoses including COPD, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, infections, and substance withdrawal
- Surgical patients including orthopedic joint replacements, bariatric procedures, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernias, and neurosurgical cases
- Daily census of approximately 24 patients across 27 beds
