Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Located in a busy, Level 1 Trauma facility, this position involves providing care on a high-demand, high-acuity unit specializing in pulmonary, geriatrics, and MedSurg patients with complex needs. The role requires strong IV skills, experience with cardiac drips, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes highlight daily parking options at $15+ per day, with various garage and lot choices. The unit consists of 28 beds with a Nurse-to-Patient ratio goal of 1:5, which can flex to 1:6 based on staffing.
• Required Qualifications:
  RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; minimum of 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience; applicable to candidates with strong IV start skills, experience with cardiac drips (heparin, amiodarone, blood transfusions), and proficiency in reading telemetry strips.
• Schedule:
  12-hour day shifts starting at 6:38 AM, ending at 7:15 PM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  Charge nurses are available for all shifts and do not take assignments. Nurse Aides are typically two per shift, with a goal of three. The unit uses EPIC electronic charting, and successful candidates need to be flexible with floating to other MedSurg areas. Scheduled orientation includes 2 days, and candidates should be prepared for a busy hospital environment that values teamwork and experience in cardiac drips and telemetry interpretation.
