**Job Description:**
- **Role:** Registered Nurse - Telemetry T8
- **Location Address:** 1155 Mill St, Reno, NV 89502
- **Shift:** 3x12, Nights
- **Weekly Guaranteed Hours:** 36
- **Call Requirements:** Call is not required
- **Licenses:** NV RN license required prior to start
- **Required Certifications:**
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS (APEX)
- **Experience Required:**
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience required
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam to include identifying and measuring rhythm strips
**Unit Description:**
- 38 bed unit staffed with:
- RN’s
- CNA’s
- Critical Care Techs (CCTs)
- Advanced Care Techs (ACTs)
- Patient ratios typically range from 1:4 up to 1:6, based on acuity/workload
- CCTs monitor ECG rhythms on all telemetry patients 24/7
- ACTs assist with:
- Transport
- Admit and discharge tasks
- IV and Foley insertion
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Limited medication administration
- Ancillary staff includes:
- Rapid Response Team
- Phlebotomists
- EKG technicians
- Respiratory Therapists
- Patient population includes treatment of:
- CHF
- Alcohol Withdrawal
- NSTEMI's
- Sepsis
- Dysrhythmias
- Pneumonia (PNA)
- COPD
- COVID-19
- Post-procedure patients including pacemakers, ablations, and cath lab procedures
- OHS patients downgraded from ICU
- Medications include non-titratable cardiac medication drips such as Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro, etc.
- May float to Intensive Care Units for telemetry/medical appropriate assignments, medical-surgical units, as well as Renown South Meadows.
**Additional Comments:**
- Travelers may be required to float based on organizational needs up to their competency level
- May be required to work major holidays
- Required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period (every 4 weeks)
- Schedule varies based on department needs and may include weekends and holidays
