Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
Travel Med-Surg/Tele Float Pool RN | 12-Hour Nights
Join an acute care, Level II trauma facility’s med-surg/tele float pool. The shift is 7 p.m.–7 a.m., with every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays shared in the staff rotation.
Float assignments are made before each shift. The most frequent units are 6N (36 beds) and 7N (29 beds), with possible assignments to 4N, 5S, 6S, and Critical Care. Travelers are generally assigned a parent unit and care for patients within their scope. Typical ratios are 1:5–6; an assignment may occasionally reach seven patients near the end of a shift.
Requirements: BLS, ACLS, and the ability to pass a cardiac rhythm exam and read and interpret telemetry strips. Epic is the charting system. A BSN is not required.
Patients commonly have CHF, chest pain, pneumonia, COPD, chronic kidney disease, orthopedic conditions, or oncology diagnoses. Travelers care for basic telemetry patients and do not titrate drips or administer chemotherapy. Respiratory therapy manages CPAP and BiPAP. Orientation includes one to two shifts with a preceptor; royal blue scrubs are required.
