Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,557 per week in Houston, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred, 3 years preferred License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in a busy hospital setting - Ability to float as required - Knowledge of basic EKG interpretation Description: This position involves working in a MedSurg-Telemetry setting. The nurse will back-up for neurology, strokes, and neurosurgery patients. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. The candidate should have experience with cardiac drips. Shift times include 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, with an expectation to arrive 15 minutes early for shift change. Charge experience is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling and required to work every other weekend. Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff. All nurses must know how to interpret telemetry strips. Successful candidates typically have 3+ years of experience and have worked in a busy hospital environment previously. Daily responsibilities will involve high patient throughput typical of a large trauma facility.
