Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in Emergency Department License: Valid RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Ability to float to Med/Surg/Telemetry when not utilized in Emergency Department - Understanding of evidence-based practice - Knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacological implications - Proficient documentation and clinical procedures Description: This position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse who will float to Med/Surg/Telemetry when not being utilized in Emergency Department holding. The candidate demonstrates an understanding of evidence-based practice and knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacological implications, and regulatory issues. Accurate and detailed documentation of assessments is required, along with performance of clinical procedures such as IV insertion, Foley catheter placement, and dressing changes. The role includes effective patient and family education, adherence to standards in tele-monitoring, IV management, ventilation, and safe medication administration. The nurse must recognize changes in patients' conditions and act accordingly. Role modeling safety behaviors is essential. The nurse will report errors and near misses, acting as a patient advocate. Independence and teamwork abilities are both critical in this role. The nurse must be open to accepting constructive feedback and maintaining a professional appearance. Completing tasks in a timely manner and taking initiative is expected. Conducting necessary follow-ups is also required. Travel experience is necessary, and the nurse should possess relevant skills in areas such as abdominal pain management, airway management, and major trauma care. Experience with diverse patient demographics, including neonates, pediatrics, and geriatrics, is preferred. The candidate must be proficient in managing critical situations and have a solid understanding of various emergency diagnoses and procedures.
