The role involves performing direct patient care activities for all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The nurse will monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize comfort and care. The candidate will function within the scope of nursing preparation. Compliance with established guidelines of nursing practice and state regulations is required. Candidates should be prepared to work weekends as necessitated by the facility. There is an expectation to work at least one of the major winter holidays. Night shift staff will initially orient on day shift. Requested time off may be approved up to five days during the assignment. The patient-to-nurse ratio is estimated at 4-6:1. Standard nursing equipment will be utilized in this unit. The position requires a strong commitment to teamwork and effective patient communication.
