Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, demonstrating clinical excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and ECG readings, ensuring timely responses to any changes in status.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the healthcare provider.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding health management.
• Potentially float to other units, including J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department, as needed.

Shifts and Scheduling

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including:

• Rotating shifts, including night (7 PM - 7:30 AM) and day (7 AM - 7:30 PM).
• Working at least every other holiday.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in a Medical-Surgical or Telemetry unit.
• A current, valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license.
• AHA or American Red Cross certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are required.

Orientation Requirements

During orientation, travelers will be required to complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and a safeMedicate assessment, achieving an acceptable score on both.
