Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,656 per week in Charlottesville, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS preferred, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Epic charting experience Description: Join a 27-bed general medicine unit. This unit offers care for diverse disease processes involving respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal systems. Clinicians appreciated the variety of patient cases encountered. Shifts available for 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend is required, alongside working 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Time off requests can be approved for up to 40 hours. Please note that time off around Labor Day cannot be approved. Candidates are encouraged to have prior charge experience. The unit maintains a daily census of approximately 25 patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1 during the day shift and 4:1 at night. Weekend coverage requires 5 patient assignments. Floating across units may be required within the scope of practice. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Special procedures include nurse-driven heparin infusions and insulin drips. Familiarity with telemetry, PCA pumps, and wound care will be beneficial. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Candidates demonstrating prior experience in the specified skills will be prioritized. Additional support services available include IV teams and rapid response teams.
