Medical-Surgical/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical-Surgical/Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, particularly in managing patients with medical and surgical needs.

Shift Details

• Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15)
• Contract Options: 36 or 48 hours per week, with longer contracts available through 2/27/2026
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients
• Monitor patient conditions and implement treatment plans
• Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
• Participate in patient education and support efforts
• Float to various departments as needed
• Attend hospital orientation and daily classes during the first week

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification is required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Charge experience is preferred
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to starting in this specialty

Unit Details

• The unit provides care for COVID patients and offers multi-level care, including stepdown, managed by specialized staff
• Utilizes systems including Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR for medication management, documentation, and communication

Additional Information

Contract staff will be assigned to work in designated teams during catastrophic events, including storms and mass casualties. Reporting for duty during disasters may be required, and reassignment to different units may occur mid-contract as needs arise.

Navy scrubs are required.
