Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele (Ortho)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry, specifically in Orthopedics. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care in a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries and related conditions.

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: Night shifts, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts
• Call-off Policy: Facility reserves the right to call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Local Candidates: Accepted, subject to radius criteria.
• Pending License: Not accepted; must possess an active SC or multistate license.

Charting Requirements

• 1 year of EPIC experience is required for charting.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Clinical Skills Required

• Must have experience in Orthopedics.

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Specializations: The unit specializes in spinal surgeries, including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies, along with integrated pain management and physical therapy.
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac conditions, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE.
• Special Procedures: Bedside lumbar puncture, post-catheterization care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post-renal biopsy, CT Angiography, and Heparin drips.
• Floating Policy: While efforts will be made to keep staff in their home unit, agency staff may be required to float to other units or locations as deemed necessary, but only to areas where they have valid competencies.
