Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,687 per week in Wilmington, NC

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Coastal North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 1845-0715, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Patient ratio 1:6. Self-scheduling system.

Highlights:

• 13-26 week contract assignments available with comprehensive 24-hour unit orientation
• Med/Surg and Telemetry experience with remote monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Diverse patient population including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, CHF, renal failure, post-surgical recovery, and various medical conditions
• 36-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• Float requirement to main campus location approximately 32 minutes away as needed

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred
• Core competencies: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry remote monitoring, use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Clinical skills including blood product administration, central line blood draw, PICC line management, IV therapy, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management
• Respiratory management: BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, oxygen administration, oral suctioning, chest tube management
• Specialized care: bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis management, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital and Epic documentation experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must be available to work holidays and willing to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters
• First-time travelers accepted
