Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,737 per week in Batavia, NY

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: New York License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Charting system experience preferred Experience with patient ratios of 6 or lower preferred Description: The unit has 37 beds. Staffing ratios are 1:9 on all shifts. Floating to other medical/surgical units is required. Weekend coverage is every other weekend or four weekend shifts per month. Candidates must be located more than 75 miles from the facility. Patients are primarily elderly and present with respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and neurological conditions. Potential for orthopedic patients as overflow. Teams consist of 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT for a maximum of 9 patients. Modified teams are utilized when complete teams are unavailable. Emergency response training is necessary, including the use of rapid response and code teams. Experience with accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and administration of cardiac drips is required. Additional skills include telemetry monitoring, surgical drain management, and wound care. The facility supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
