Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Job Details

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and float as needed
• Successful completion of required onboarding and competency assessments

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Accurately document patient care and maintain timely records in Epic
• Support safe patient transitions and maintain compliance with hospital and nursing standards
• Float to a nearby affiliated hospital when needed to support patient care operations
