Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Pool | Boston, MA

Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Boston, Massachusetts 02215
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Start Date: January 4, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating schedule with a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts; rotating days and nights
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays required; no on-call responsibilities
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-surgical telemetry float pool supporting 15 inpatient units within a 600-bed hospital
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Assignment Flexibility: Unit assignments may vary by week and can be provided up to two hours before the shift

Medical-Surgical Telemetry Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts required at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of related medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty-area expertise preferred
• Ability to float confidently across multiple clinical units and adapt to changing patient assignments

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple inpatient units
• Support a broad range of specialties, including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, transplant, and vascular care
• Perform telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKGs, blood transfusions, and medication infusions such as Lasix drips
• Administer nebulizer treatments and collaborate with respiratory therapy for ventilator management
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate outcomes
• Communicate effectively with providers, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow hospital policies, safety standards, and clinical protocols
• Demonstrate flexibility while rotating between day and night assignments and working every other weekend and required holidays
