Travel Nursing Job Details

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of recent, related Registered Nurse experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty-area expertise preferred
• Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based applications
• Flexibility to float between inpatient units and adapt to assignments that may be provided close to the start of a shift

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple inpatient units
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and provide telemetry-focused patient assessment and intervention
• Administer medications and therapies, including Lasix infusions and nebulizer treatments
• Perform and monitor blood transfusions according to established standards
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiac, bariatric, general medical, surgical, gynecological, genitourinary, orthopedic, oncology, transplant, and vascular conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team; respiratory therapists manage ventilators while RNs administer nebulizer treatments as appropriate
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation in Epic and communicate effectively during patient handoffs
• Adapt quickly to changing unit assignments while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care
