Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 pm to 7:15 am) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Med Surg/Telemetry License: Licensed RN able to practice in the State of MS Certifications: - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale - Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Experience in patient care, nursing process, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation - Ability to perform technical nursing skills - Strong communication and documentation skills - Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and medical-surgical care Description: The Registered Nurse performs under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator. The nurse is assigned specific duties to achieve quality patient care. The nursing process is implemented in an organized and systematic manner, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator, physicians, and ancillary staff is essential. The nurse is responsible for patient care and accountable to the Nurse Manager. Additional duties may be assigned by the Patient Care Coordinator and/or Nurse Manager. The nurse demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care. They assess and intervene appropriately when patient conditions worsen. The nurse performs all technical skills required for the patient population, including administering medications, starting intravenous access, maintaining IV lines, and performing routine treatments. The nurse communicates pertinent patient information to all healthcare team members. They maintain clinical skills, staying current in competencies and certifications. Adherence to and promotion of established values within the organization is required. The nurse ensures efficient use of supplies and promotes a culture of compassionate care. Documentation, bedside shift reports, and clear verbal communication are part of the role. Nurses will float to various units as needed to maintain coverage. Compliance with safety and customer service standards is essential. Weekend work is required. Professional appearance must be maintained, including natural or neutral hair colors.
