Med Surg MT5 Oncology Registered Nurse

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Unit: Med Surg MT5 Oncology

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join the MT5 Oncology unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong medical-surgical and telemetry background, excellent clinical judgment, and experience caring for oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients.
• Monitor and assess patients throughout the shift, recognizing changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac rhythm.
• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and care needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Follow all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
• Support patients receiving oncology-related treatments and therapies.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certificate required.
• Medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous chemotherapy administration experience highly preferred, but not required.
• Previous oncology nursing experience.
• Travel nursing experience in a medical-surgical/oncology setting.
