Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,962 per week in Rochester, NY

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – New York

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Rochester, New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day/Evening shift ratios are 5:1 (stretch to 6-7 patients); Night shift ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10 patients). Every other weekend required. Patient Care Technicians provide vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living support. Orientation includes 5 hours of onsite training plus pre-start modules.

• 35-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric populations
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and more
• Epic charting system experience required
• Float within scope to similar units as needed to support facility operations
• Manageable time-off restrictions: maximum 1 week RTO permitted per contract period
• Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs

Requirements:

• Active New York RN license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion/placement
• Epic charting system experience (required)
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood product administration, feeding tube care, peripheral line management, PCA pumps, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management, and wound care/wound vac
• Experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Must reside beyond 75-mile radius from facility
• First-time travelers accepted
