We are seeking an experienced MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment on the MedSurg 6 North unit. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with strong Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience who are comfortable caring for post-operative and medical patients in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients.
- Perform patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, and ongoing monitoring.
- Independently interpret and identify cardiac rhythms every 4 hours (no central monitor technician).
- Care for post-operative patients, including general surgery, orthopedic, gynecologic, and vascular procedures.
- Manage patients with heart failure, chest pain, pneumonia, cellulitis, pancreatitis, alcohol withdrawal, and other acute medical conditions.
- Administer medications and therapies, including Heparin, TPN, Lasix, and Cardizem (non-titrating per protocol).
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
- Float to other units as needed based on hospital staffing requirements.
