Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for an exciting opportunity within a dynamic float pool environment. This role involves supporting multiple medical surgical units in a comprehensive healthcare setting, with an emphasis on providing exceptional patient care across a variety of specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a float pool capacity, covering 15 medical surgical units.
• Administer medications and treatments, including nebulizers, IV therapy, and blood transfusions.
• Perform unit-specific procedures, such as 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, and lasix administration.
• Support specialized patient populations, including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, oncology, and transplant units.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while adhering to established protocols and best practices.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including both 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, days and nights, with every other weekend and holiday commitments. Travel RNs may receive assignments with limited notice and are expected to accommodate varying shift changes.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably within a teaching hospital or specialized area.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Certification in CPR (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) is required.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate web-based applications; Epic experience is required.
• Experience in a Level I trauma setting is preferred.

Additional Information

Orientation for new staff is provided weekly. Travelers must present any requests for time off (RTO) at the time of submission, with a limit of three days off. Scrubs of any color are permitted, and parking may incur a daily fee. Public transportation options are available.
