Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a large, urban hospital required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Chemo preferred Must-Have: - 2 years of prior experience - EPIC charting experience - Mixed acuity unit experience - Availability to float as needed Description: The position involves caring for adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy and complex medication administration. The unit serves patients undergoing bone marrow or stem cell transplants. Nurses in this role are expected to care for a maximum of five medical-surgical patients at a time. Patient care ratios are typically 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night. BLS certification is required, along with ACLS and chemotherapy administration experience preferred. Candidates must have recent experience in a Level 1 trauma facility. Travelers will float to various units to meet facility staffing needs, which include a range of inpatient settings. Availability to work weekends is required, with four weekend shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays during the winter season. This is a nicotine-free facility. RNs are required to wear designated scrubs branded with the facility logo. Team support includes CNAs, care techs, and transport team members. The healthcare environment is multidisciplinary and includes various support services.
