Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large, urban hospital required License: Active nursing license in the respective state Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CPI preferred Must-Have: - Experience in handling drips and telemetry - EPIC charting experience within the last 2 years - Behavioral health experience preferred - Ability to float to various units as needed Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse to work in a general medical surgical and telemetry unit. The unit cares for a variety of patients, including those with orthopedic conditions, pulmonary issues, sepsis, and psychiatric illnesses. Registered Nurses must be comfortable managing patients with underlying behavioral health conditions that may be flagged as violent. Training will be provided for safety and de-escalation techniques. Staffing ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with potential for 1:7 ratios on rare occasions. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team working closely with CNAs, care techs, and other support staff. Traveling nurses are expected to float frequently to meet staffing needs across various units. Weekends require 4 weekend shifts out of 8 in a 4-week period, with specific Saturday and Sunday commitments. RTO submissions must be included with the application, with limits on requests after confirmation. This is a 100% nicotine-free facility. Holiday requirements include working 2 out of 3 major holidays, with specific dates detailed. Only candidates who are more than 100 miles from the facility will be considered.
