Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $3,130 per week in Omaha, NE

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of prior Telemetry experience in a large, urban hospital. License: Active Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Ability to float within assigned scope to meet facility needs - Experience managing titratable drips Description: Team-Based Care Delivery Model is utilized, involving bedside RN, LPN, CNA. Travelers are prioritized when floating in accordance with staffing needs. The unit is a 40-bed medical-surgical unit caring for adult patients. Staff manage a variety of medical and telemetry patients with acute and chronic illnesses. Patients may present with conditions such as sepsis, respiratory issues, gastrointestinal disease, endocrine disorders, cardiac disease, and COVID-19. Staff responsibilities include managing titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, and high oxygen delivery systems. A team-based care model encourages collaboration among healthcare professionals. This model includes Lead Nurses, bedside Registered Nurses, Virtual Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Nursing Assistants. Virtual Nurses assist by performing administrative tasks that do not require physical presence. The model promotes effective teamwork, communication, and leadership. Patient ratios are 1:8 during the day and 1:9 at night. A 100% nicotine-free facility is maintained. Weekend commitments include working four weekend shifts within a four-week period. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays. Candidates within proximity of the facility are not accepted. Pending licenses may be considered if the license is obtained before the start of the assignment. Scrubs with the facility logo are mandatory. Team-based care encourages nurses to work to the top of their licensure and expertise. Daily responsibilities include collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams.
