Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of related work experience and be proficient in various medical and surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Float across 15 medical-surgical units, specializing in areas such as neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, hips and joints, oncology, transplant (liver and kidneys), and vascular.
• Provide patient care with an average ratio of 4:1 during the day and 6:1 during the night shifts.
• Administer treatments and medications, including nebulizers and blood transfusions, while adhering to unit-specific procedures.
• Conduct 12-lead EKGs and telemetry monitoring as needed.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, with the possibility of receiving assignments on short notice.
• Participate in holiday and weekend shifts, ensuring coverage as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license required at the time of submission.
• ACLS and CPR certifications required.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate web-based applications; experience with Epic is necessary.
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise is an advantage.
• Level I trauma experience is required.

Work Schedule

The position involves a combination of 8 and 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights, with the possibility of a set schedule. Orientation is conducted weekly, every Monday, excluding holidays.

Additional Information

Travel RNs will be assigned based on unit needs, with potential shifts in scheduling. Daily parking fees may apply for day shifts, and public transportation is available for commuting.
