Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to patients in a medical telehealth setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a cohesive nursing team, displaying expertise in managing various patient conditions and maintaining efficient operational flow within the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care with a focus on critical telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and allied health professionals to provide optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate proficiency in performing assessments and implementing care plans for a diverse patient population.
• Participate in team nursing, ensuring effective communication and support among team members.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and disease prevention.
• Utilize telehealth solutions for remote patient monitoring and follow-up as needed.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing.
• Experience with TURPS-CBI and an understanding of critical care protocols is preferred.
• Ability to work with limited resources, including comfort with IV starts and basic telemetry monitoring.
• Experience in Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 nursing is advantageous.

Work Environment

The unit consists of 24 inpatient beds with the capacity for 10 observation/day surgeries. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 during the day shift and 6:1 during the night shift, with additional support from nursing assistants. Charge nurses will maintain an assignment and may offer relief coverage for travelers.

Schedule and Availability

• 12-hour shifts, including day and night rotations.
• Weekend and holiday shifts are required, with a rotation schedule of every other weekend and 2 out of 3 holidays.
• Flexibility to float to similar units and care settings is essential.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation program, including dedicated training time with experienced staff to ensure acclimatization to unit protocols and procedures.
