Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: FG MED Duration: 9 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 am to 7:15 pm) Experience: Minimum two years in Med-Surg Tele RN License: Licensed RN able to practice Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale, Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Medical-Surgical Nursing, Telemetry Nursing, Patient Assessment, Care Planning, Intervention and Evaluation Description: The Registered Nurse performs under direct supervision to achieve quality patient care. The Registered Nurse implements the nursing process in a systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator, Physicians, and ancillary staff is essential, as evidenced by documentation, direct observation, and patient evaluations of care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for patient care and accountable for reporting to the Nurse Manager. Other duties may be assigned by the Patient Care Coordinator or Patient Care Manager. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care. Assesses and intervenes appropriately when patient conditions worsen and require immediate attention. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets needed information. Provides individualized care based on patient age-specific needs. Performs all required technical skills, including administering medications, starting intravenous access, and maintenance of intravenous lines and Foley catheters. Administers blood products, applies restraints and monitors patients, performs sterile dressings, and conducts complex and routine treatments as ordered by a physician. Demonstrates technical aptitude in troubleshooting equipment such as traction devices and telemetry monitoring devices. Safely positions and assists patients using various devices, including abduction pillows, slings, and braces. Documents thoroughly, concisely, and in a timely manner. Communicates pertinent patient information effectively with all healthcare team members. Maintains clinical skills and stays current in required competencies and certifications. Embraces and practices a caring philosophy in patient, visitor, and coworker interactions. Implements a comprehensive plan of care for patients needing cardiac monitoring, stroke care, and medical-surgical care. Adheres to and promotes established organizational values, including customer service and compliance standards. Promotes a culture of caring through compassionate care, teamwork, and courtesy in all interactions. Demonstrates financial responsibility by using supplies efficiently and ensuring timely patient discharges. Ensures minimal incremental overtime and adheres to staff scheduling requirements.
