Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
Care for patients with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, post-cath, AMI, post-PCI, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, and pacemakers
Titrate cardiac and other drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrilin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro (up to 50 mcg)
Read and interpret telemetry strips independently using Philips monitoring equipment
Collaborate with CNA support staff and coordinate with Respiratory Therapy for CPAP and BiPap management
Participate in weekend rotation (every other weekend, Saturday/Sunday) and holiday rotation with permanent staff
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in good standing
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Demonstrated ability to titrate IV drips independently
Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
No artificial/false nails permitted per unit policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a cardiac, telemetry, or stepdown unit setting
Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
Experience with post-operative cardiac and thoracic patient populations
