Registered Nurse – Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown (7N)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
- Monitor and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro (up to 50 mcg)
- Read and independently interpret telemetry strips using Philips monitoring equipment
- Care for patients with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, post-cath, AMI, post-PCI, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, and pacemakers
- Collaborate with CNA support staff, charge nurses available 24/7, and Respiratory Therapy managing CPAP and BiPap equipment
- Participate in weekend rotation (every other weekend, Saturday/Sunday) and holiday rotation with permanent staff
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Current ACLS certification (required)
- Demonstrated ability to titrate IV drips independently
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac strips
- Natural nails required; no false/artificial nails permitted
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a cardiac, telemetry, or stepdown unit setting
- Familiarity with post-cath, post-PCI, and chest tube patient care
- Experience working with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
