Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3x12 or 4x12 shifts | Every other weekend required | 36 hours guaranteed per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 39-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, including cardiac and observation populations
• Manage patients with conditions such as acute MI, unstable angina, CHF, unstable arrhythmias, CVA, and other cardiac and surgical disorders
• Administer and maintain proficiency with required drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and nitroglycerin
• Care for post-cardiac cath, post-angiogram, and PTCA patients; experience in these areas is required
• Float within scope of practice as needed across the unit
• Document patient care using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty experience required
• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted at time of submission
• BLS/BCLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Demonstrated working proficiency with required cardiac drips (heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin)
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred (AHA)
• Experience with cardioversion, TEE, thoracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, or paracentesis
• Familiarity with high-turnover observation unit environments (average stay 36 hours or less)
• Prior experience in a Level IV Trauma Center or major teaching hospital setting
