Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a broad range of medical surgical patient types with a patient ratio of 4–5:1
• Monitor and manage patients on heparin drips and telemetry with remote tele tech unit monitoring support
• Float across multiple campuses as required to support staffing needs
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity as needed, supporting unit leadership and team coordination
• Precept and mentor team members to support unit growth and development
• Participate in holiday coverage — travelers are expected to work 1–2 of the following holidays unless the unit is closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Minimum 24 months of experience in Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months — first-time travelers are not accepted
• Proficiency caring for a variety of medical surgical patient types
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with heparin administration required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred
• Preceptor experience is a plus
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Openness to extending beyond the initial 13-week contract is preferred
