Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Cardiac Renal Unit)

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (12-Hour Days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (48-Hour contracts available upon request)
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a cardiac-heavy patient population including AFib with RVR, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation, and dialysis patients
Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation, including passing required telemetry competency assessments
Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
Float within skillset to a sister campus (approximately 8–11 miles away) with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also required
May be required to precept students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment
Required Qualifications
Current, active compact RN license
AHA BLS certification (must be current)
AHA ACLS certification (must be current)
NIHSS certification (must be current)
Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac / Telemetry experience
At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment and Trauma Level II experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
Recent hands-on experience with EPIC electronic health records (checkoff class will be required)
Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry interpretation, drip titration, and management of complex cardiac rhythms
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
