Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care across a Medical Surgical/Telemetry float pool covering multiple units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
- Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
- Titrate Heparin drips and manage RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
- Float to facilities within a 60-mile zone radius as assigned, which may include same-day Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments communicated 1–2 hours before shift start
- Adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 based on acuity, working alongside designated charge nurses and nurse aides
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling to fill gaps, fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule), and participate in holiday rotation as needed
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in the state of Kansas (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last 3 years
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to float throughout a 60-mile zone radius and secure housing that supports this requirement
- Must be physically present in state for the full week of orientation
- Ability to submit all time-off requests prior to assignment start
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting
- Familiarity with Alaris infusion pump systems
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
